The theme of my work is to bring forth that which is mysterious, evocative, and lasting. As I paint, I push myself to venture into unknown areas that open my mind to new ways of seeing. Natural surroundings are close to my heart, and I love sketching and photographing flora, fauna, and landscape; these images often come into my mind as I paint in my studio. And sometimes I will combine my nature photography with images from my paintings, and a new art form emerges — Art Fusions!

Occasionally when I am at a spot in nature, something profoundly moves me. It could have been the sound of water dripping from a cavern ceiling, or a glint of sunlight in the shadows cast by trees in the woods. That moment will germinate in me until I start depicting it on canvas. Then as the painting slowly evolves, layers are applied and the surface becomes a place where nuances occur and I become the translator of dreams. As a result, each painting teaches, touches, and inspires me.

To feel that special energy flowing through me as my hand moves with brush across a surface is the deepest feeling I know, whether it is painting a canvas, sketching a landscape or painting the side of a building. When I am finished working for the day, I am left with an exquisite sense of peace and fulfillment. It is my hope that when gazing at my work, you will feel some of my mystical experiences and inspiration.
